Schedule Your Time

The most productive people have a routine at work and they stick to it. For example, it’s a good idea to dedicate thirty minutes of each morning to checking and answering your emails.

Delete any emails you no longer need to keep your inbox tidy and follow up on any emails that need to be answered by someone else. The more information you have, the easier it will be to complete projects to the highest standard and satisfy clients.

Clear Your Desk

A cluttered desk leads to a cluttered mind. However, most businesses these days are using tools like the Cloud or Google Docs to store their documents. So, your desk probably isn’t covered in paper documents. That doesn’t mean to say there’s no clutter.

If you have a habit of loading your desk with coffee cups, snacks or cluttering with notes you no longer need, have a clear out. The cleaner your desk is, the more space you have to work efficiently.

Use a Planner

When things get busy, it’s easy to let something slip your mind. So, if you’re always forgetting client meetings or missing your kid’s tournaments, it’s time to use a planner.

There are some great online planners ideal for reminding you of big events, deadlines or meetings. Don’t store everything in your memory when you don’t have to.

Create Lists

If you have a lot to do, it can become overwhelming. Don’t do a little of this and a little of that. Create a list and organize your workload by priority with a label maker.

Focusing entirely on one project at a time will get you better results than trying to spread yourself too thin.

Take Breaks

It’s hard to stay focused and organized if you don’t look after yourself. When you don’t take breaks throughout the day, you may find that you become unnecessarily stressed. Stress can lead to illness, like headaches and nausea.

When you become ill, you’re forced to stop working and that can lead to additional stress. Taking breaks, staying well fed and hydrated will ensure you stay productive and your mind is clear to stay organized.
