Alternative Ways to Advertise Your Business

Estimated reading time: 3 mins

When it comes to growing a business, there are plenty of essential elements that need your focus. You need a fantastic product and website. If you’ve got a brick and mortar store or office, it should welcome people in. You have to offer a great customer experience and develop trusting and loyal relationships. You also need to spend a lot of your time learning and developing new techniques. To grow a business, you have to continually seek ways to find new customers, improve your products and services and improve. Advertising is often something that gets forgotten. Or we come to as an afterthought. But, without advertising, no one will know about your fantastic service or product, and you will never grow.

Digital marketing and other online forms of advertising are becoming more and more popular, and it’s easy to see why when you look at how much time we are all spending on the internet. You might be focusing your efforts on social media advertising, your own blog or website, and online ads. This is great. Online advertising like this is a fantastic way to reach a wide audience and build relationships with your followers. But, it’s certainly not the only way to advertise your small business. Here’s a look at some of the less obvious ways to get the word out.

Influencer Marketing

You might think that by promoting your own social media feeds, you are doing everything that you can online to promote your business. But, have you considered working with other influencers? You might think that prominent bloggers and social media influencers with loads of followers will only work with big brands and those with a large budget, but why not get in touch and see if there are campaigns you could partner on? Or, work with smaller influencers that appeal to your target audience. These influencers inspire trust and loyalty, often much more than celebrities or the media, so it’s certainly worth a try.

Use Your Car

Whether you use your car for work, or just for personal use, it gets around. Pop one of these car window stickers in and it will get seen. Try to come up with a memorable graphic or slogan that will get talked about, and ask some of your friends and family to display your stickers too.

Flyers

You might think that handing flyers that advertise your business out isn’t alternative, just old fashioned. But, flyers, posters and other forms of print marketing are being used less and less. Which means that when they are used, they can be exceptionally effective.

Despite the growth of online business and use, we still trust what we can touch. Online, we’re likely to scroll past adverts that don’t immediately grab our attention and delete spam emails without even opening them. A flyer in our hand we’ll read, we’ll take in the information, and we’ll remember. Don’t underestimate the power of tangible goods. Print posters, flyers and business cards and start distributing them.

Word of Mouth

If there’s something we trust more than print, it’s people. That’s why influencers marketing can be effective. Word of mouth marketing can be powerful, so why not start the ball rolling by talking about your business yourself and asking others to do the same.
