Mr (Or Ms) Motivator!

Estimated reading time: 2 mins

What is the one key factor that successful companies have and unsuccessful ones don’t? The ability to inspire motivation in their employees. Without motivation, you are only ever going to get a mediocre effort from your workers. Something that can be very hard to turn into goals that are hit, and targets that are exceeded. But what can you do to motivate your employees? Read on to find out, and don’t worry you won’t have to wear a rainbow unitard and a cap to do it.

Holiday rewards

Of course, the first thing that springs to mind when considering motivation is to offer some sort of reward for good work, completed in a timely manner. But what things are suitable for this?

Well, first of all, why not consider giving your employees the opportunity to earn additional paid leave. This can be extremely motivating for many people. This is because they feel they are being compensated for all of the times where they have gone above and beyond the call of duty.

It can also be healthy for your worker because they get time to recuperate and return to the next project refreshed. Something that should allow them to refocus and put all of their efforts in again.

It can also work well for your company. As although you will have to pay them while they are on leave, the work will already have been completed. Probably, a lot quicker than it would have been otherwise. So you will not be out of pocket, but you will be ahead of schedule.

Motivation events

Something else to consider is running a motivational event for your whole businesses. They can take many forms. Some companies choose team building activities. Whereas others, especially sales orientated businesses, find larger glitzy events more suitable.

These large events are designed to get everyone revved up. To entertain and to celebrate achievements, providing enough motivation to keep everyone going for the next 6 months to a year.

That means they have to be put together in a very professional way. With proper lighting, actors, and dancers and so that everyone can see and hear what is going on.

This is why quality audio equipment hire is so important here. As if people are missing what is being said they are not engaged and will not be motivated. As the cost of this type of event is so high if anyone that is not getting the full effect; your money is being wasted.

A competitive and friendly environment

Also, it’s important to create a sense of competition in the workplace through achievement and reward. But this needs to be done carefully in the context of a friendly environment. As very few people want to work in a bear pit style life or death situation all of the time.

Instead, it’s better to foster pride in the company as something that everyone can get behind together, as a group. Allowing employees to support others’ success as well as their own.
