  1. I am married to Claire
  2. We have a 3 year old Son, James
  3. I have four brothers, all younger
  4. We live in Nailsworth, England
  5. My Myers-Briggs type indicator is INTP
  6. I work as Chief Innovation Officer for a financial services organization
  7. I was born in Manchester, in the north west of England
  8. My favorite place is Hawaii, where I went on my honeymoon
  9. I also like Vegas, where we also stopped off on honeymoon and was remarried by Elvis
  10. I am a MBA graduate
  11. As well as a BSc graduate in Computer Science
  12. More recently I became a qualified eMentor, and eTutor (Level 3)
  13. I’d like to do a PhD, but to be honest it’s only because I’d like to choose to be called Dr Stapleton
  14. My passion is personal growth and development
  15. And I love to share this with other people
  16. And help them develop too
  17. My previous employers were Microsoft, Oracle, and a string of US startups, particularly through the DotCom boom, and bust
  18. My most famous failed project was BOO.COM
  19. In my career I have been in roles focused on 1st line  support, consulting, network security, web development, and management
  20. My favorite kind of work is complex and challenging problems in a pressured environment
  21. I am not as effective in a steady state
  22. I love a good crisis
  23. Most of my experience is in financial services
  24. I have written articles for several IT industry magazines
  25. And have had two articles featured on the British Computer Society website
  26. I have been quoted in the Washington Post on the subject of reverse headhunting using social media
  27. And contributed to two books about social media and Web2.0, coming out this year

  29. I think, one day, I will turn my hand to becoming a serious author of books
  30. But not necessarily an author of serious books
  31. I am a cancer survivor
  32. I am a much happier and relaxed person after surviving cancer

  46. I destroyed my Porsche Speedster last year – not a happy moment
  47. I prefer rugby than football
  48. I enjoy photography, but I consider myself an total amateur at present
  49. I am useless at golf, which is why I am taking lessons
  50. Taking walks on a friday evening, followed by the pub, is my favorite activity of all
