We are a big Microsoft house here in St Paul and we will be going with Hyper-V but I prefer the VMWare solution - purpose built and fit for purpose. Not sure how the MS solution will work out for us as we don’t have the in-house skills. But you are right matt that it is a buyers market it is great to have the choice

In Bahrain we’re not doing much as far as green issues because energy is so cheap but maybe this is wrong. Simplification of our systems is a good reason to do it especially as good IT resources is always a challenge for us. I am liking the VMWare products a lot but not so familar with the Microsoft product which is because VMWare have been around for longer

Hi Matt (you’re a new author on this site, right?) I don’t know much about virtualization but you have given me some food for thought. If we can get it for free then we could start a pilot. My techie guys have been keen for a while, so there shouldn’t be a reason for the CFO to complain now! Thanks!

Nice article! We’re looking at virtualization as a means of rationalizing our infrastructure which has become way to complex. We’are also encouraged to adopt greener IT by our parent company so this will help
