Instant Messaging is a good idea but often in my opinion is used instead of a conversation unnecessarily.&lt;br/&gt;I put this down to novelty factor for now. If these tools gain popularity and are used a lot I bet we'll find that standard behaviours emerge that define when these tools are used.</description>

		<description>I agree with those comments. IM (we use Yahoo! Messenger) has its uses, its a great productivity tool and stops all sorts of nonsense coming into my email inbox (such as lunch invites). I do find that some of my colleagues use it in a lazy way though rather than coming over to see me!</description>
